I dont like to talk about my outfit, because its weird to write about how great i combined or chose something. Thats why i will keep it as simple as possible. First of all, everything im wearing, besides the creme toned cardigan, is made by none other than the biggest swedish clothing company out there, H&M. Yes, even the cognac coloured college jacket. A pair of simple blue drain denim combined with mud toned boots. I put the denim in the boots, to highlight them. The scarf is a loop i bought from the womens department for 10€ because its getting pretty cold out here in Germany. If the sun comes out i dont leave the house without my classic Ray-Ban Wayfarers. But im in love with the college jacket, which almost looks like an exact twin of a Drykorn jacket we once saw at the Bread & Butter 2011 in Berlin, but less expensive. I payed around 135€ for this look, without they glasses of course. WELL DONE!
We are constantly say ourselves WE HAVE TO DO MORE WELL DONES to show you how easy it is to dress in an unique way without paying your ass off. For example the look our buddy Mohamed is rockin on the picture above. A very clean an dark Diesel denim he bought via the internet. You buy a pair of a denim, from a label which is specialized on denim like Diesel, Replay, Levis and co which has a sick washing but a bad cut and give it to your tailor. So did he, because often you find a great pair of denim, but the cut sucks or they cost 150€ plus. He combined the dark denim with a neon orange coloured crewneck sweater from H&M, which creates a great contrast between dark blue and light orange. But the actual highlight is his scarf he bought from the womens department, but who gives a shit, looks smokin. His sneakers were on sale too, we bought him for his birthday, a pair of Element Prescott Elite, made of suede and with tons of little details like pearls, coloured stripes and a sprinkled sole. The accessories hes rocking are a rosegold watch made by Flüd for 80$ and the most expensive item are his aviatior sunglassesby LV. If you leave the glasses out, his whole outfit cost him round about 150€ but is worth a million. WELL DONE!
Its “summer” in germany but we still don´t have a real high summer WELL DONE, this one isn´t one either. 25 degrees but its raining every hour at least once. As you can see Joe is wearing a green military parka from minimal with brown buttons and drawstrings . The interesting thing about the parka is that the colour is changing at various spots to a more sand tone. Underneath a white t-shirt from Zara, which has no stiches at the sleeves and the neckline. The huge printed X at the front holds a lot of various motives in it, for example stars, a kissing couple, the delorean, a cigarette, the death etc. To prevent a too crazy look Joe kept it very clean with a washed slim denim by H&M but hits us with the Clae Kennedy in a washed red, got them for 40 bucks via ebay. I cant really call out one highlight, the parka, the sneaker, the t-shirt. The accessories are a a watch from Yves Camani and some wrist bands he found at the flee market in Portugal. There is nothing left to say, just WELL DONE.
Now to finish off the new looks here comes mine, everything kept in black, green and some leather details. Im wearing a pair of beige desert boots, dark slim fit denim, the WeWood watch was a gift from my girl while i purchased the camouflage handkerchief and the hawk broche via ebay and asos. Underneath the black felt blazer with a black leather elbow patches and collar im wearing a black denim shirt, and above that (it was freezing) a blue wool cardigan with braid pattern. To fix my pants you can see a brown braided leather belt with a golden closure. The massive green wool scarf and the Ray Ban wayfarer are finishing the look. A look to look at, many details and balanced out well, what more can we say besides WELL DONE
This is Nima, another one from our Wolf-pack . Well, hes very colourful today. Starting at his mint green slim fit denim over to the shiny red loop (its a huge eyecatcher). The blue colour of his Converse are perfectly matching with the blue suede belt. Through the black leather vest and the loop he is creating the upside down pyramid, a lot of volume on the upper part. He is wearing the very hyped white Casio G-Shock and a pair of Ray Ban Clubmaster. Underneath the vest you can see a light washed denim shirt. To highlight the vest and the shirt he is wearing a white henley shirt. Unfortunately Nima isnt always dressing like this, because he hasnt the confidence to to stand out but we will fix that, its just a matter of time . So stop hesitating Nima!
Now if you remember Mo was one of the people we started with, and now he has the honor to be first guy who is listed a second time. So as you noticed this was a pretty cold but sunny day, so Mo didnt leave his golden Louis Vuitton aviators at home and to fullfill the Düsseldorf standard he put out his Burberry scarf So now lets get down, colour of his pants is unusual and awesome at the same time, the strong rust tone, by suit, harmonizes with the dark blue of the trenchcoat by H&M. Hes rocking some blue suede sneaker by Clae with contrasting laces. Whats interesting is the price of his watch, only 20 bucks and its pure perfection. Simple, clean and very classic. And thats what we are trying to say, combining 240€ sunglasses with a 20€ watch and 2€ wrist pearls. By the way, underneath the trenchcoat he is wearing a simple grey crewneck sweater by H&M for 10€. Beeing WELL DONE isnt expensive at all…
Its been a while since we have seen some new faces in our WELL DONE section, so its time for a little fresh up. First we want to start with Jan, a good buddy of us who works as an event manager. He´s doing the great AUDIOFASHION-partys. We shot this one in a basement because we thought it fits with his mixed up look. He is wearing some drak Levis Slim jeans combined with the black and red coloured Vans Authentic. To continue his very casual look hes rocking a fine rib vest and the so hyped denim shirt by Levis as well. (he worked for Levis so dont wonder). To break the dark bottom part he rocks a off white blouson by Zara with perforated velours elements. At his wrist we can see a vintage watch he bought at the flee market. Jan has always been into the whole tattoo (hes got a few) and piercing thing, that explains the flash earrings. And the cherry on top is his hat he is wearing a black felt hat by Stetson.
To complete the Nikolai d’Etoiles team only one young gentlemen is missing and thats him. He is wearing a really sharp suit, which perfectly shows how a slim fit suit has to fit. Like Tom Ford once said, a suit has not to offer casuality and comfort, its like a dress for men, its suppose to make a guy look handsome and well dressed! And please dont listen to people who try to tell you that the blazer has to have the same pattern or colour as the trousers. They are wrong! You can even choose totally different colours and still the pieces will harmonize as long as one colour neutralizes the other. Back to the guy, the blazer has a decent checked pattern, with a slim red stripe. Hes combining them with grey felt trousers, and surprisingly white socks! He broke a rule! He truly did, white socks! SO WHAT? He did it consciously, to catch the colour of his white shirt. For the first time we saw white socks combined with classic shoes, in this case brown budapester. The woven tie comes in another colour, dark blue with light horizontaly stripes. The belt is brown to, guess what, catch the colours of the budapester and to crown his outfit hes wearing a silver Rolex. Plus his haircut does its own to finish the look, coz its a very modern and sharp cut, so its a contrast to the strict outfit. Nicolai d’Etoiles 2# is finished. WELL DONE!
The 2nd represantator of the Nikolai d’Etoiles booth is this scandinavion looking gentlemen whose outfit is pretty basic but less good. So this will be a short one. Everything is kept in blue, from the slimg leg denim he is wearing over to the wool crewneck pullover which has a decent horizontal plait pattern and is adorned with brown threads. The shoes are kept classic, in beamless black leather with a elegant shape and without any curlicues. The narrow brown leather belt splits the blue parts in 2 halfs which is nice for the eye and makes sure it doesnt get too blue.Underneath the pullover with the little crew neck we can see a clean white shirt with a tie and we are already done. Nothing left to say, a clean and pure outfit. WELL DONE!
This guy will be one of three we met at the Nikolai d’Etoiles booth at the Bread & Butter Winter 2011 and they caught our attention while they were sitting around a table and discussing so we took the chance and hit them. is wearing a suit combination as well, blazer and trousers were made of felt, in brown, while the trousers are a note lighter and the blazers offers come colour if you take a more detailed look. Whats interesting is the wide revers of the blazer and the fact that he chose the trousers a bit longer so that his sock aint visible. Correct me if i’m wrong but is he wearing the same pair of shoes the first guy had on? The same pair of brown budapester? And if we are talking about brown shoes, we want you to remember, no brown shoes after 6 o’clock Underneath the blazer theres a blue wool crewneck pullover and because a red shirt with white stripes and a crewneck arent enough he is rocking a bow tie with red stripes and college emblems. The wine red breast pocker handkerchief is another coloured detail which steps out and every time when i come along a guy who is wearing a blazer im asking myself, where is the handkerchief? It upgrades every outfit, and its as simple as that. You dont need no technique to bend it. Oh, i almost forgot, WELL DONE! Nicolai d’Etoiles 1# is finished
Now a very, very, very casual and loosen up look. Dont underestimate these looks, they may seem very easy and less complex but they are not. First of all you have to have the best pair of CLAE sneakers they ever released, the Ellington Walnut. The combination of that dark brown suede with the red sole and the amazing shape make these sneakers one of the best of 2010. Continuing with a simple slim blue jeans which is wrinkled, over to a white tee, with a wide crewneck, underneath a opened blue/red checked flannel shirt. The nerd inspired glasses, we dont know if he needs some or if they are just a fashion statement. If he needs them, fine, if not, reconsider it a 2nd time dude . A blue beanie, worn very loose finishes the, lets call it “modern lumberjack” look. Interesting and weird at the same time was his wooden spoon which was hiding in the breast pocket. But these are the little details which make a outfit special and one in a million. WELL DONE!
What fascinated us about that guy was the way he wore his scarf. We have never seen that type of styling before, whether in magazines, on the runway or in the streets. His outfit is very decent and neutral, the washed out slim fit jeans with a pair of brown suede desert boots. The belt seems to be the oldest part of his outfit and the way he bonded it is very easy but effective. We did that with the dickies belts 10 years ago, and now its comin back. Precondition is that the belt has to be thin…To continue the “analysis” hes wearing a simple wool blue V neck pullover with a red/yellow checked shirt underneath to catch up the colours of his awesome bonden scarf. And if we are talkin about shirts underneath pullovers, make sure that the shirts is visible at the sleeves too. All in all a very easy look, not hard to copy but the details are important..We have to find the recipe for that scarf bonding, no matter what it costs . WELL DONE!
With this gentleman we return to the classics, but with a remarkable change, the affectiation for pastelle tones, like amazing violette slim cotton trousers. Its interesting to see how the, lets call it special colour, so the guys dont feel offended, harmonize with the rough and meaty brown chelsea boots. This break its what makes the combination so interesting, typical boat shoes wouldnt have had the same effect. To neutralize the female tone of his trousers this gentlemen uses the olive colord 2 buttoned blazer with the brown leather buttons and decent violette stripes to dont loose the connection to the trousers. He continues the color in his small checked shirt and to contrast out the felt tie he chose strong purple. The woodon optic reading glasses from RayBan give the outfit the little extra. Surprisingly they are not violette . Thats how a confident classy gentleman in the 21st century has to look like. WELL DONE…
First, we guess he works for WESC, second, we would kill for his Varsity/Baseball jacket, third, we believe that his sneakers are Air-Max, if not please dont kill us plus we have to admit that we arent such fans of the Air-Max sneaker like the whole streetwear community around the globe and we cant really understand the magic or hype around this pair, however we liked his outfit coz its very laid back and relaxed. It is very simple and easy, a dark low waist jeans combined with “hopefully” Air-Max and a printed white WESC tee to lighten up the outfit. Eyecatching is his Varsity jacket, the strong red colour and the black terry cloth sign at the chest are a beast. To finish his look he wears a black Nike SB New Era. And thanks to this guy, we finally know how to pronounce WESC correctly, WELL DONE!
Now to one of the highlights at this years Bread & Butter Well Done Edition. I dont even know if its neccessary to explain about the outfits of these two gentlemen. I guess they totally speak for itselves. I mean, come on, look at them. Every piece has its function, nothing is coincidence, everything matches, from head to toe, the colours, the patterns, the silhouettes, the accessories, the jewelry, the glasses, the beard, the hat…theres no end to it. So this is the first time we let a outfit speak for itself, a description or explanation would be needless. So, we encourage everybody, even though we know it costs a lot of work, to achieve this level of combination skill, take a risk, try something new and show other people that men are able to dress fashinable too. This is what the WELL DONE section was made for, for people like these two…
Now its time to return to the classics, like this young guy. His unusual way of wearing this huge brown wool scarf in combination with this amazing pepita pattern sack coat catched our eyes. To loosin up his look hes wearing a deep V-Neck pullover underneath, and if we wanna go into the little details, even if you think it doesnt matter, the end of the white T-shirt which you can see is important becaue it lightens up the outfit and splits up the olive coloured narrow pants with the grey V-Neck pullover with a slim white stripe. even if it are usual whick chuck taylors, i dont know any other shoe who can be combined with suited and classic elements without beeing a budapester, loafer or slipper. Plus they are used which fits exactly. And to finish his whole look, hes got a blue/white breast pocket handkerchief, a vintage classic brown leather watch with a white clock face and the brown round horn-rimmed glasses. This was one of our personal favourite outfits. WELL DONE Mister.
You cant hide from the denim shirt, but luckily it was all over the place. But this time in another kind of use, with white boat shoes (surely without socks) and some dark (very slim) denim pants. This kind of style is very simple but very effective. If the pants would be the same colourway as the shirt it would be too much, but the contrast betweeen the light and the dark denim is the key to a successful all over denim look. Plus we liked the way he buttoned it to the top to suggest some strictness. Well done denim soldier .
Now this will take some time, because this guy is full of details we have to mention. Where shall we start? Maybe with the double layered polka dot blue bow tie, uuuhh what a word . The colour of the bow tie is the exact same color as his wrinkled cotton slim cut cotton chinos. Above his button down shirt hes wearing a dark blue woll cardigan and now this amazing felt blazer with this awesome colours and the little closing detail over the breast pocket. I dont know its function at all. Not done with the blazer yet, the brown leather buttons and the fine orange stripes finish this outstanding blazer to its perfection. Now to another outstanding way to make a classic upper look break with footwear. The shoes are unknwon, but its not hard to signify the shape, they look like the Vans Authentic, but with a pattern mixture of brown suede, glossy blue leather and the yellow sheostrings this show is an eyecatcher itself, but he complements it with a purple socks . Just take a look how many colours and patterns he mixes without disturbing the harmony. Amazing piece of art. Double WELL DONE!
The first guy who caught our atttention directly after we entered the entrance hall. Later we saw him the 2nd time and took the opportunity, the blue down vest with the brown leather application and the lambskin is very interesting. I guess its Penfield. The denim shirt, one of 2010 Must Haves, underneath the vest supports his blue coloured outfit and the black denim balances the colors, to guarantee its not too blue. The Nike SB Blazer (again blue) are the perfect addition to make his look look casual and unforced. Nike SB Blazer in combination with some slim fit trousers are good tools to round up a streetwear look. WELL DONE young Mr. Bleu.
We guess that this guys’ Air Max, i hope they are Air Max, look like he took them out of the box a few moments before we took some shots of him. Or hes a sneakerhead who makes sure that his sneakers dont get in touch with dirt It was the first time we saw a guy who wrinkled up his pants while wearing Air Max. Unfortunetely he wore black socks, but colourful ones would maybe be too much. The denim pants are washed and slim fit, so is his denim shirt (again one) and the awesome dark baseball/varsity jacket (Must Have 2010/2011) with leather sleeves. He combined the red elements of his sneakers with his classic old fashioned british scarf. The yellow Nixon at is wrist is a little colour dabber. Air Max and wrinkled pants? WELL DONE.
If i remember correctly, this guy is from the Netherlands, to be exact, Amstardam and works for the streetwear online shop/ brand Patta. His crewneck sweater is pretty simple, but thats how a crewneck has to be, simple and with a graphic on the chest (crewneck, another Must Have of 2010/2011). Above the sweater he is rocking a vintage light washed denim jacket (again a Must Have) and some brown slim pants, to put some colour in it. The retro Casio gold watch is one of the highlights, its a solid and well known accessory in the scene. His woven blue beanie with the little brown leather detail is awesome too, especially that hes not wearing it loose, but hanging off the head, crooked. Light grey/beige Air Max complete his streetwear look and all in all his outfit looks washed, very well, oh, i meant, WELL DONE.
LE3RD met up at sunday for a meeting to discuss some projects in the near future and while we we´re drinking some coffee we saw this guy, smoking his break cigarette. We had to put him in our well done section, coz his style was casual-street with some attitude. He´s wearing dark slim fit denim combined with red Vans Authentic low. Above the denim he´s rockin a Stüssy tee, covered by a Volcom asphalt grey hoody, coz at the moment it´s gettin cold in Germany. On his wrist we noticed his silver Nixon watch. But his eyecatcher was definetly the light see through Ray Ban wayfarer. Amazing piece. A colourful wool beanie is covering his head. Thats the sort of style we wanna see. Only two words left to say, WELL DONE.
A friend of us, who lives in Münster a university town in Germany, visited us last weekend. His name is Saeid, student, 9th semester studying law! Now thats crazy. Saieds outfit is very basic but pure. A classic beige chino by Dr. Denim, combined with the never out of style sneaker, the white classy Chuck Tailor. Underneath his great washed denim jacket made by GStar he´s rocking a white V-Neck tee from American Apparel. His gold Casio watch is amazing. He got that one from London. The outfit is very pure, never out of time, but Saeid likes to keep it low. with this outfit you´re never wrong, wether at university, a club or a shopping day. WELL DONE, keep it basic.
That´s George, my little cousin and upcomin Mannequin. 17 years young and so secure when it comes to style and fashion. George is wearing a Crooks&Castles jersey Varsity jacket with a nice backprint. Underneath a loosen light washed denim shirt. To cover his chest a corded muscle shirt. But what do we see hanging around his neck, is it the black GoodWood Jesus Piece? Yes it is. His denim is a dark grey washed True Religion, seems mannequins are paid very well. The red the Hundreds Johnson mid are giving his look some colour. we love it when the leather has these little holes. His left wrist is covered by the classic black childish Casio. to hide his long dark hair George is wearing a beanie, you will never see him without one, he and his beanie are as close as mickey and minny mouse. We are very curious how his style will develope in the next few years. WELL DONE young George.
I catched up with my friend Mo these days and gave him the honor to present his look. He is a student from our town plus an upcoming musician who calls himself MoBien. In the near future you hear definitly more about him. Enough talk, lets get down to the facts. Mo is rockin some beige classic trousers combined with a washed denim shirt to break the look. A classic shirt would overload the outfit and push him to much in the classy way. Underneath the shirt we can see a basic V neck shirt to create a little highlight. He did very well in integrating the Hundreds Johnson Mid ( though a skate based shoe) to the classic trousers. So he created a lot of wrinkle to sharpen up the silhouettte. And man you can´t see through his shades, coz these are god damn Louis Vuittons. Gold and aviator style, can´t go wrong with this. All in all, daily streetwear look with an classic element. WELL DONE.
I’m embaressed to say so, but yes, thats me, one of the founders of LE3RD. These photos were made while the meeting with Mo. He convinced me to present my look as well, coz he thought it was fräsh. I´m wearing a marine blue loop, by H&M, wrapping it 2 times to create the male silhouette. The upside down pyramid, big volume above, getting more narrowed while going down. The shirt, by H&M, is mehly off white coloured with a wide crew neck. Slim fit grey denim by Acne and some suede Trussardi sneakers. Glasses by Tom Ford. Ah, almost forgot the key fob from KidRobot. WELL DONE.
That´s Joe, my partner, the other founder of LE3RD, my right hand, my left eye and by the way a graphic designer. He´s wearing a dark green College jacket, he found in a vintage store in Paris. Underneath a used off beige V-neck shirt. The pants are light grey and slim fit, to keep the focus on the shiny green the Hundreds Johnson mid. Woow, these sneakers are not an eye catcher, but an eye thief! Jelously guaranteed. To finish off his outfit he´s rockin a dark straw hat the Louis Vuitton belt. There are only two words left to say, WELL DONE.
