Bread & Butter 2012 – Floris van Bommel

Floris van Bommel, the brand which seems to be older than Gandalf the Grey seems to be very more modern and timeless than ever before. This is the result of 9 generations of family which kept the business in family hands. Today the company is ran by the three brothers Floris, Reynier and Pepijn which are constantly working on improving the brands design, image and distribution. It all started in 1734 with real hand made shoes and kept growing and growing till we reached their booth at this years Bread & Butter. A lot of desert boot kind of shoes in various colours and shapes, but different soles and details. We noticed and instantly fell in love with their new interpretation of the classic chelsea boots with the contrasting colours. Very nice colour composition. But almost even more interesting were the little installations on the sideway like the T-Rex, MJ and the Hulk. Pretty cool and finally something different from other brands booths at the Bread & Butter which are about the bigger the better. If you want to purchase a pair do it via their online shop.
Floris van Bommel, die Marke die schon ein zwei Jahrhunderte auf dem Buckel hat ist heute moderner und zeitgemäßer als eh und je. Zu verdanken ist dies Floris, Reynier and Pepijn van Bommel die das Unternehmen schon in sage und schreibe neunter Generation führen und weiterentwickeln. Es hat alles 1734 mit damals noch wirklich handgemachten Schuhen und mit der Zeit ist das Unternehmen stetig gewachsen, und vor 2 wochen sind wir über ihren Stand auf der Bread & Butter gestolpert. Viele Desert Boot artige Schuhe in vielen Farben, Formen, doch unterschiedlichen Sohlen und Details. Auch die neu interpretierten Chelsea Boots Variantern mit den sportiven und strukurierten Sohlen haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Sehr geiler Kontrast. Doch viel interessanter waren die Installtionen die nichts mit den Schuhen zu tun hatten wie der T-Rex, MJ und der Hulk. Ziemlich cool und eine Abwechslung auf der Bread & Butter wo es sonst immer heißt, nicht kleckern sondern klotzen.
