Wooden Sunglasses by Shwood & Holloway

Use mother nature to create products, consciuss recycling and reusing old materials is some kind of trend. Watches made out of wood, clothing made out of old PVC bottles or for example sunglasses made out of old skateboards like Holloway. Its not really new, we have seen this at Shwood and Vuerich Borthers, but every time we come across a video showing how its done we are fascinated. On the one hand the frames look very unique and special, on the other hand they are made out of recycled skate decks, and not just skate decks. They also recycle grand pianos, car parts, busted old furniture and timber scraps donated by local cabinet makers. Originality and innovation has its price, the prices start around 200$, depending on stlye and edition.

And while we talking about wooden sunglasses here is another example by one brand mentioned above, Shwood. They teamed with up Bodega and Bushmill Irish whiskey to recycle, now listen, old whiskey barrels. Now thats some love, you may smell some good old whiskey while wearing them. The wood, the barrels are made of is older than gandals himself, they can be dated back to 100 years. Limited to only 100 pieces and complete with a custom whiskey crate packaging and the necessary crowbar for prying it open, “The Bushmills” can be picked up now from Shwoodshop.com and Bdgastore.com for $225 USD.
